Sewing...Sewing...GONE!!

This past week I have been working on some burp cloths and hooded towels for a friend of mine, Misty, to give as a baby shower gift and some for her. She came over tonight to get them. It was good to see her because it's been about 5 years or so since I have seen her. We sat around like two old bitches and gossiped while the kids ran around and played. Now that we have each other's phone numbers we can keep in touch and get together and let the kids play.

Here are just a few that I made for her:

This one has the ribbon going down both sides where they meet together when you close the towel and I also did one with just the blue polka dot ribbon that went around the hood part. They turned out so stinkin cute.


First let me say sorry about the pic I didn't realize it turned out so blurry, but you can see it well enough to know. They turned out really really cute also if I do say so myself.

This one is a light blue towel similiar to the one I made her the only difference is the design on the back was still police just different picture.



Thanks girl for the business and drum me up some more would ya. I am just itching to do some girl towels and burp cloths.

Never been opened much less used....i think it also came with the mini typist plates all the alphabet, it came with the binder and the protectors to keep everything in...i will open and make sure everything is in there and take a pic of it all for anyone who is interested

Chicago ...here we come

So Elizabeth and I are going to CHA!! Woo Hoo.... For all you none scrappers it's basically a scrapbook convention to preview new products that will be coming out..ok enough of that...

It all started with a message from Wendi sending me a message through MySpace saying "Dude!...Chicago...make it happen". So I email her back to ask her some specifics and when and yada yada yada...well i email Elizabeth thinking yeah right it's a nice dream but I know we won't be able to go..so anyway we email back and forth and now the wheels are turning...O'Neil has been telling me I need a girls weekend so I thought hell why not. Start searching airline and hotels and I email Simone to ask where the best hotels are to stay because we were coming and she said we could stay with her in her apartment and she is close to downtown and blah blah blah...so I am so stoked right now...in a matter of 2 hours literally we went from everyday life to going to Chicago...i am such a spontaneous person so this is right up my alley.....well ladies and gents.....us southern girls are fixing to tear up the windy city and we can't wait. Elizabeth and I finally get to meet Jamie and Wendi and Simone and maybe I will get to meet Jana and all the rest of the bloggers that will be there. Stoked I tell ya...Stoked....

Then I get a phone call after all this from Elizabeth telling me I needed to check out Simone's latest post so I do and this is what it says:

This weekend was packed full of good times....Friday night we called Jody and Robert (jody's brother) over to play some Boo-Ray and of course drink some cocktails.....We had a blast...of course guess who won? that's right ...yours truly..i kick some ass in cards... wish we would have played for money...hehehe

Speaking of Drag shows we went out on Saturday night to see a drag show for mine and Walter's birthday. We have such a blast everytime we go. It was a shit pot full of us. Me, O'Neil, Walter, Drew, Mike, Jill, her husband John, Sharon, Armando, Charmaine, and her husband Kevin, Mechele and Kinnesia. We went out drinking and jukin....there's not much really to say other than GOOD TIMES!! I'll let the pics speak for itself. I ended up taking 205 pics through out the night.


of course I have to start with the self portrait...minus Elizabeth. She couldn't go cause Mike just had major knee surgery a few weeks ago and she is trying to get her house ready for sale so she can move into her new house.

I despise peanuts...cannot stand them..not almonds, cashews, regular peanuts, pecans, ect.... however...sista here will tear up some reese's peanut butter cups by the dozens. love love love them!!

Scrap Happy...the pic on the right side at the bottom is the day before my surgery. We didn't know how I was going to be so we thought we would squeeze in some scrap time just in case I felt horrible (which I didn't) scrapping the same week. Day after as a matter of fact.

Also, I would like to thank Laura for the birthday card in the mail. That was very sweet and thoughful.

This weekend I managed to do some sewing for a friend's baby shower on Saturday. I sewed Saturday morning. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.
I belted out 3 hooded towels and 4 burp cloths.

I forgot to take a picture of the burp cloths but for you viewing pleasure I did manage to take some of the towels. I am thinking about selling them in my etsy shop.

I did 3 of them. I do them different ways. Sometimes I put ribbon on them, sometimes i will use printed towels and sometimes I just sew cute things on them. Just depends on how I feel.

After the shower was over Elizabeth and I were itching to take our "self portrait" like we do everywhere we go together. You now there was 50 people standing around that could have taken our pic but know we were holding the massive rebel up trying to do it ourselves and this is what we got. hehehehehe


I guess we should have zoomed out but hey we liked it!!

Okay so.... wondering what I did for my birfday? Well let me just tell ya!

I WENT SHOPPING!!

I know that is quite shocking to y'all but hey somebody has to do it....right??

mm-kay...for starters I got up at the ass crack of dawn to get my kids off to daycare and the momster and I were headed to Mobile to take the beloved Honda in to have the XM Satellite radio stuff installed. Appointment for 8:30 am and it's an hour drive away. Okay so I get there, the chick says it's going to take 5 hours....so she tells me that they have a guy who will drive us anywhere in Mobile and drop us off and when we are ready we call and he'll be right there to get us.

Okay not so bad....wrong....6 hours later we are still at the mall and sista here is broke as a joke..no shit when i say broke..i couldn't even scrounge up 50 cents for a coke..so I call the chick says weellll it's going to be a little longer because we had to take your whole car apart in the inside from the front all the way to the trunk....WHAT?? okay so now I am a little frustrated. I knew it was detailed and a tedious process but to take the whole freaking inside apart...okay so...we walk around a little more and then the guy was there to pick us up at 2:30...great just a little longer we can go home....so I thought...WRONG!! sit at the dealership for another 3 hours...yes I was pissed....what should have taken 5 hours took 9 hours....I was sure doing some huffin and puffin in that place. So yep that was my exciting birthday.

I did however enjoy the radio on the way home...I was seriously jammin to some 80's music....
